Fadi Comair

Fadi Comair is a Professor and is currently the Director of EEWRC (Energy, Enviroment, Water and Research Centre)  in the Cyprus Institute.

Moreover, he is the Chairperson of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP). Between 1993 and 2017 he has served as professor of applied hydrology in several universities in Lebanon.

Prof. Comair has a Ph.D in applied hydraulics and Energy Systems Engineering, Option Thermophysics and Mechanics from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Lyon, France in 1989. Fadi Georges Comair is a water diplomat (DWRE) from the American Academy of Water (AAWRE) and international negotiator specialized in the Middle East region.

He has published some 200 scientific publications, among them coauthored several books and many research articles until 2018, although none in the last 2 years apparently because of his extensive administrative tasks. He has received several awards and recognitions for his work.

He is a member of the French Overseas Academy of Sciences and Water Academy in France. He graduated from the University of Texas and Harvard University, the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, and Claude Bernard Lyon I University, with a PhD in Energy. From 1987 to 1993, he was Head of Department at CERIB in France.
