Wolfgang Cramer, environmental geographer and global ecologist, is research director at the CNRS Mediterranean Institute for Biodiversity and Ecology (IMBE), in Aix-en-Provence (France). Understanding of biosphere dynamics at the global and continental scale, including aspects of natural and human disturbance is his main research interest. He is a contributor in many roles to the IPCC (Peace Nobel Prize 2007), currently working as Lead Author for the Sixth Assessment Report.
He is co-chairing the Mediterranean Experts on Climate and Environmental Change, MedECC, co-chief editor of the Springer Nature journal Regional Environmental Change, and co-chairing the French National Committee for Global Change Research.
